Independent Living Options (ILO)

Empowering Independence

UCCo provides NDIS-supported independent living services that enable individuals with disabilities to live a fulfilling, healthy, and connected life in an environment that best suits their unique needs.

We currently have multiple SIL houses across SE QLD and participants that have taken advantage of our expertise in developing ILO service proposals for them.

Every person’s accommodation and housing needs may differ, so individualising the approach we take with you on this journey is important.

Our operations and management team pride themselves on their ability to find solutions across a difficult housing market, because they believe everyone has the right to choose where and how they live within the bounds of what the NDIS can offer you.

Our focus is to help you maintain your independence and improve your overall quality of life by ensuring that you have the support you need.

The pillars of choice, dignity and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do, and this stems from lived experience with family members and loved ones conquering life with a disability.

HOW SIL & ILO SERVICES CAN ASSIST YOU

SIL provides individuals with disability access to shared living arrangements, where they can receive assistance with daily life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.

ILO, on the other hand, focuses on empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently by providing them with the tools and resources needed to manage their own lives.

SIL and ILO offer numerous benefits to individuals with disabilities, including increased independence, improved quality of life, greater social inclusion, and enhanced self-esteem.

YOUR TEAM ALWAYS

Your support team is designed to meet your personal needs rather than assigning staff from a pool of support workers.

Working with you, we build a team of people who get to know and care about you and can help to foster a sense of community and connection that can be incredibly valuable in navigating the highs and lows of life.

We understand first-hand that having changing support workers with no consistency in care can have several downsides: inability to establish a rapport or sense of trust which leads to feelings of discomfort or anxiety.

Additionally, it may be harder to maintain a routine and ensure that all necessary tasks are completed regularly without consistent care. This can lead to increased stress, frustration, and potential health complications if important tasks such as medication management or wound care are not performed correctly or consistently.

By working with a team that is consistent and tailored to your unique circumstances, you can enjoy greater flexibility and control over the type of assistance you receive.
